Find Strategy

The earlier "Settings" Tab is now "Find Strategy". Click on this to create a new strategy.

Click here when you want to create a new strategy, or overlay an existing one.
Select Client - Select the client(s) for whom you would like to create a strategy. When multiple Clients are selected, you need to ensure that they all have the same positions for the underlying selected. In this case, the investment amount will be a percentage of the Margin Balance of the Client and the strategy will be created for the client having the highest Brokerage.

Percentage of Balance - When Multiple Clients are selected, enter the percentage of balance required as invested amount. For example, if Client A has Rs. 5,00,000 balance and Client B has Rs. 10,00,000, a figure of 50% will create a strategy with Rs. 2,50,000 for Client A and Rs. 5,00,000 for Client B. The strategy will be displayed for the Client with the highest brokerage.

Select Strategy - Select the Type of Strategy you would like to create. Regular Strategy will create a Strategy for the expiry month.

Select Underlying - Select the underlying(s) for which you want to create the strategy. When you select multiple underlyings, you get the best strategies across the underlyings selected. When you select multiple clients as well as multiple underlyings, the client with the highest brokerage is selected, and only underlyings with no existing strategies are considered.

Underlying Value - Enter an underlying value if you believe the underlying will close around a particular value. Strategies will be displayed based on this value. If left blank, the current value of the underlying is taken to be the most likely value.
Investment Amount / Percentage of Margin Balance - Please enter the amount you want to invest. This does have an impact on the strategies displayed. In case multiple clients are selected, you need to enter the percentage of the margin balance, as each client can have a different initial balance. The margin balance is entered while creating / updating the client.

Enter Loss Limit - Please enter the max loss as a percentage of the investment amount, e.g., enter "20" if the max loss you want to see for an investment amount of Rs. 1,00,000 is Rs. 20,000.

Risk : Reward Ratio - Enter your risk / reward ratio, e.g., if you enter 1:2, and the maximum loss is 20%, the maximum profit will be atleast 40% of the investment amount.

Underlying Range - Enter the range of the underlying for the loss limit and risk reward ratio, e.g., if 7500:8500 is entered with the above Loss Limit and Risk Reward ratio, the max loss between 7500 and 8500 will be 20%, and there will be a profit of atleast 40% within this range.

Expected Return - Enter the minimum profit (in % p.a.) expected from the strategy. The default is around 10% p.a., which is 50% more than the MIBOR rate.

OTM + ATM only + ITM 0/1/2 legs - Now, you can add upto 2 ITM legs while creating a strategy, besides all ATM and OTM legs. As before, it OTM + ATM only is not ticked, strategies will include all legs of ITM, ATM and OTM.

Disable unlimited loss - Check this box if you want to block unlimited loss.

Delta Hedge - Check this box if you want to see only Delta Hedged strategies, i.e., the net premium of the strategy will not change for small movements of the underlying.

Futures - By checking this box, you can include Futures in your strategy.

Strategies

The application creates combinations of all options legs and displays the best strategies available based on your settings, after considering all costs at entry and exit. You can sort your strategies on any column, e.g. you can click on Profit Probability to sort based on "Profit Probability".
The columns indicate -
Profit Probability - This is the chance of making a profit using the given strategy, with 0 being the lowest and 1 being the highest.

Break Even Points - These indicate the range of the underlying on expiry for profits.

Total Delta - This indicates the profit/loss in Rs. if the underlying increases by 1.

Total Gamma - This indicates the increase of Delta if the underlying increases by 1.

Total Theta - This indicates the profit/loss in Rs. for the next day, if the underlying is constant.

Analyse Strategy

When you click on a strategy, it displays details about the strategy.
The Graph shown is the Payoff Curve. By pointing the mouse to any part of the graph, payoff (after considering entry and exit costs) as of expiry is displayed.
To achieve this payoff, all the legs shown below have to be executed.
To create this payoff, an order for all the legs of the strategy will have to be placed with your broker.
To monitor your strategy and for further advice, it is advisable to click on "Create Order" and then "Submit". Once done, the new strategies will be displayed after considering this executed strategy. This concept is also known as "Overlay". An Overlay can be done any number of times.
You can also Analyse the strategy till expiry, for any given underlying value. Enter the underlying value and date range to see how your strategy would perform. You can also change the IV / Premium depending on your expectations.

Add / Update Client

You can now create multiple Clients (i.e., family accounts) by clicking on "Add Client". In Client details, there is an additional field for "Do you wish to receive email alerts". Select your preferred frequency for being alerted for Stop Loss / Exit Profit.
